Choose how a role is assigned

Assign a role when someone joins, let members choose interests from a panel, or require an approved access request. You can use a different method for each role.

Check permissions first

Orbit can only manage roles below its own Discord role and within its permissions. Before offering a role in a panel, check which channels and actions it grants access to, including access gained through combinations with other roles.

Test with a member account

Configure join roles or publish a role panel, then test role selection and removal with an ordinary member account. Use access requests for roles that need a team member’s approval.
