Orbit 1.12.10: Performance and quality of life

A substantial performance and quality of life update since 1.12.0. Earlier Discord acknowledgements, less repeated work and lighter Dashboard pages accompany Forms response deletion, better Discord reviews, simpler module management and improvements to everyday server and account workflows.

Since 1.12.0, improving performance has meant a substantial pass through Discord interactions, background activity, shared data reads and busy Dashboard pages. We changed how much Orbit loads, how often it repeats work and which actions get attention first. This reached considerably further than a few slow buttons. It turns out the quickest unnecessary lookup is the one we finally stopped making.

Less waiting, less unnecessary work

Discord commands and supported buttons acknowledge earlier while their work continues. Interactive actions receive priority over scheduled background activity, and Discord replies have dedicated request capacity. We also reduced repeated server and module lookups and idle processing across role handling, moderation and workflows, so routine work places less pressure on active interactions.

  • Tickets use searchable pages and load older transcript messages on demand. Panel and reply-template editors load their supporting data when needed.
  • Giveaways load participants, results and history in pages, while overview totals still cover the whole collection.
  • Module data views load the selected collection, and server pages cancel superseded reads while preserving unsaved edits.
  • Bot recovery handles temporary connection failures and interrupted processing more carefully, reducing avoidable disconnects and repeated restart cycles.

Forms: deletion, review and clearer rules

Server members with Forms management permission can permanently delete an individual response or up to 100 selected responses with explicit confirmation. Deletion removes the stored answer content and response notes, and schedules associated uploaded files for removal.

  • Members can cancel an active Discord-DM form session, and validation explains the relevant text, number and selection limits. Numeric answers no longer trigger unrelated character-length errors.
  • Authorised reviewers with a linked Orbit account can privately inspect complete answers in Discord, approve or reject a response, request changes and open its authenticated Dashboard view, subject to the form's review settings.
  • Forms requiring Discord sign-in can require all or any selected server roles and exclude specified roles; eligibility needs a successful current membership check.
  • Upload controls use current effective file limits, count files across visible questions and provide authenticated attachment previews in response details.
  • The logic editor gives a compact overview of conditions, effects and review modes, with clearer threshold guidance before saving.

Smoother everyday workflows

Module installation, activation, pause, restart, updates and removal can be reviewed in place from the Store and installed-module pages. Compatible stable updates are suggested, incompatible releases explain why, and unchanged installations no longer fail their first removal attempt after an automatic update check. Installation and activation remain separate choices.

  • Server pages have clearer sections and navigation, with layouts that adapt to smaller screens.
  • The account overview brings identity, connected providers and recent feedback together; Appearance and Sessions have dedicated pages.
  • Feedback adds search, status filters, pagination and easier reply navigation on mobile.
  • Campaign editors retain channel, member, role and date selections when reopened and avoid unnecessary save conflicts.

Further fixes and module improvements

  • Creator notifications have clearer video, Shorts, premiere and live options, with more accurate paused and overdue schedule information.
  • Discord role selectors report an unavailable role list instead of presenting it as empty.
  • Ticket actions post persistent status messages, and closed channels retain configured staff access with an authorised Reopen action.
  • Ticket types can control whether the opener may close a new ticket.
  • Updated Temp Voice modules handle lobby moves, empty-channel cleanup and optional owner controls more consistently.
  • Updated Anti-Nuke modules make recovery actions explicit, reviewed and confirmed.
  • Discord sign-in returns users to the domain where they started.
  • Dropdowns and pickers remain visible above their containing dialogs.
  • Blocked actions give clearer private feedback and provide server appeal links where available.
  • The refreshed public website brings clearer feature guides, plans, bot comparisons and language switching.
